The data doesn't take into account that the general public's wages went up during that period of time too. Which is good (everyone deserves a raise!) But it highlights this trend is not specific to our population. And if compared to the general public, we may have seen that wages did not grow in the same level of the general population. It's hard for me to properly analyze this data.
Do you also have this data broken down by disability?
Charles Liao, DDS
On the disability breakdown, consumers may have multiple diagnosis so it can be challenging to show the data by specific disability.
Daniel Schneider - EDD
Figures 2 and 3
How many working age adult are within each category on this slide. This would help.
I think the data should include PIP's and transition to CIE jobs where the employer has hired the consumer as well as backing up Wesley's input looking at sub-min workers to current min wage work.
TRANSPARENCY OF DATA
1. WHICH DO WE WELCOME? WHERE ARE WE PLEASED?A. WHICH DO WE ACKNOWLEDGE BUT DON’T LIKE?
WHAT OTHER SOURCES OF INFORMATION EXIST? DO PROVIDERS COLLECT THEIR OWN DATA?
Daniel Schneider - EDD
To follow-up, employment in Vocational Rehabilitation services declined about 20% 2019 to 2020 statewide
As part of a grant we take data on what their dream jobs are, work experience, how many hours they want to work, ethnicity, experience, etc
We are just starting the grant so this is baseline data and will be tracking employment - hours, salary, etc
IF WE BRING IN EMPLOYERS, WHAT DO WE WANT TO ASK?
We also need to ask those who are not receiving services - how many clients want to work and why haven't them be able to.
What challenges have they experienced with our population that we can support through either better training or additional programming
